Islam and Christianity, East and West, they are often presented as antagonistic or enemies in war, they contain two types of organization in the world that are reflected and affect the relationship with the other part, but it does not necessarily lead to conflict. Differences and similarities, conflict and peaceful relationships, the actual practice of relationship and exchanges between these civilizations are shown and demonstrated by that organization in a particular stage, like Nasrid period (last great dynasty of al-Andalus), and in a demarcated area, like lands of Jaén.

The book is composed of several studies from different specialists dedicated to territory, politics, institutions, culture, documentary and tangible and intangible heritage of the region of Castile and Andalusia area. It allows a comparison and a wide view, which allows understanding the peculiarity of that historical period and the model of relationship between East and West at the same time.
